Today Sat 11th Feb, there is a Full Moon in Leo and also a Lunar Eclipse, where the Earth will pass between the Sun and the Moon, opening up a powerful manifesting portal that won’t close until the upcoming Solar Eclipse on Sunday 26th Feb. Lunar Eclipses are agents of change, the heaven’s wake-up call to break old patterns, habits and negative actions and let go of anything not serving our highest selves. Eclipses are also portals to other dimensions, where we can access deeper understanding to guide us on our paths.
Full Moons are a time of completion and culmination, heightened energy and emotions, which together with Leo’s playfulness, determination, creativity and passion cam make our dreams and wishes come true!
A great Moon for Valentine’s celebrations!!
Portugal
I have had a few days away for my birthday and went to a lovely hotel about 30 mins from Lisbon. The weather ranged from torrential rain to beautiful sunshine and I enjoyed it all. There was a coastal walk with some lovely beaches and as I love the sea, I really enjoyed breathing in the fresh Atlantic air and watching and listening to the waves, which I find meditative and balancing. On one of the walks, I spotted this women, on the beach, gazing out to the horizon, on a very stormy day. She looked so peaceful and serene and it reminded me of a meditation that I have used in workshops, where the power of the sea is used to cleanse and take away all our worries, concerns, baggage and clutter. Denise Linn (a shamanic healer, writer, speaker and oracle card reader) has a healing portal on her website and there is a free visualisation based around the sea, that you may like to try. There are also some amazing buildings in the area with wonderful tiles, roofs and faded glory! I have taken lots of photographs for inspiration for a piece of work that I want to develop using materials, threads and prints. I will definitely be going back as there was so much more to photograph than I had time for, plus amazing food and wines….can’t wait!
Imbolc
Imbolc is celebrated on February 2nd and is a great time to spring clean, both in your house and with your health. Clearing clutter to make room for the new is a symbolic gesture that represents tidying a garden to make way for the new growth to emerge. This is the time to write your New Year resolutions or a wish list, as the light is returning and tasks and projects will be completed with ease and joy.
Imbolc is a time to tune into your intuition and inner wisdom, expressing your deepest feeling and showing love for partners, friends and family. This is a good time to light candles to cleanse and transform the past and open the way for new beginnings. New growth can be symbolised by bringing pots of snowdrops or a vase of twigs indoors to see them bloom and blossom. To me snowdrops carry a message of renewal – symbolising renewed hope, new growth and purity, helping you to let go of the past and bringing light, energy and enthusiasm after the darkness of winter.
It is also a good time to plants seeds, such as sweet peas and snapdragons and as you watch the first brave shoots emerging from the soil, you are symbolically watching your own seeds, ideas and intentions grow and come to fruition.
New Moon in Aquarius
On Saturday 28th January there is a New Moon in Aquarius and it is Lunar Imbolc. January is also a number 1 month and added to 2017, equals 11 – which is all about balancing our masculine and feminine energies and stepping through the doorway to a new way of being. Aquarius is the sign of freedom, encouraging us to be our true selves even if this makes us stand out from the crowd. However Aquarius is also about sharing energies and seeking out groups of like-minded people to inspire and work towards a common goal.
Uranus rules Aquarius and plays a big role in 2017 and this New Moon encourages individuality, freedom and sharing with kindred spirits. Uranus is the planet of vision, change and new possibilities, so anything is possible especially around new beginnings and Venus, which has been beautiful and clearly visible here, is bestowing love, beauty and finances upon us. This is reminding us that both love and abundance is possible in our lives, so with all this special energy around, this really is a time to bring positive thoughts and actions to all areas of our lives.
