Recently went to Felley Priory to photograph the gardens and have some lunch in the gorgeous sunshine, with a lovely view. The gardens were at their best, with magnolias, arum lilies, a meadow of fritillaria and the most amazing field of daffodils I have ever seen. Everyone was stopping to see the wonderful display – the colour, scent and vibrancy was stunning and very hard to capture in my photographs. It was a very spiritual moment, captured by a man, pushing his mother in a wheelchair, who had taken off his shoes and socks  – clearly feeling the need to connect to this beauty.
Daffodils herald the start of Spring and allow us bring love and compassion to ourselves as well as bring inspiration and clarity of thought by connecting us to our higher selves.
I especially love the last two lines of William Wordsworth’s famous poem:

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
